Roles & Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs, patient history, medications, and allergy information accurately
• Room patients and prepare them for exams, ensuring a welcoming and calming experience
• Perform specimen collection and labeling including throat swabs, clean catch urines, and venipuncture
• Administer immunizations, injections, nebulizer treatments, and TB tests as needed
• Conduct blood glucose testing with glucometer and support basic point-of-care testing
• Assist providers with procedures and set up exam rooms for efficient clinic flow
• Manage telephone triage, refill requests, pharmacy calls, and in-basket referrals professionally
• Support prior authorization and prescription refill processing to help patients access care
• Provide compassionate communication and care coordination for patients, including psychiatric patients

Qualifications

• MA-C certification required (MA-R not accepted)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience; experience in adult outpatient clinic settings preferred
• Proficiency with Epic charting required
• Demonstrated venipuncture and specimen collection skills
• Comfort working with psychiatric patients and in behavioral health clinic environments
• Reliable transportation to and from the assignment

Education

• MA-C certification required

• Phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques

• Suture removal and assisting with minor procedures
