Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate communication and swallowing function and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based therapy to support patient progress and functional outcomes
- Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes promptly and accurately
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and family members to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families on strategies to maximize functional communication
- Monitor outcomes and adjust plans of care to meet rehabilitative goals
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, patient-centered culture
Qualifications
- Active or eligible for Massachusetts state license in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience working in acute rehab, skilled nursing, or post-acute settings preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a patient-first mindset
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
- ASHA CCC-SLP (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders
- Knowledge of evidence-based SLP interventions and outcome measurement
- Ability to create clear, concise, and timely clinical documentation
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in a rehab setting
- Familiarity with assistive and augmentative communication strategies
- Strong patient and family education skills to support carryover and success
