Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Provide safe, compassionate hands-on care under the direction of nursing staff
- Monitor and report changes in residents health status promptly and accurately
- Support mobility and fall prevention efforts through attentive assistance
- Document care activities clearly and legibly in the patient record
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to promote a positive environment
Qualifications
- Active GNA or equivalent state certification (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Comfortable working with geriatric populations and supporting ADLs
- Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
- Background check and any state-required registry clearance
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA/CNA certification as required by the state
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care techniques and safe transfer/lift practices
- Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
- Ability to observe, record, and report patient changes
- Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience with older adults
- Time management to complete assigned tasks within shift
- Basic charting and documentation habits
