Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate adult patients' communication and swallowing function using bedside evaluations and standardized tools
- Conduct and interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies and apply findings to safe, individualized care plans
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including compensatory strategies and diet modifications
- Manage dysphagia care including suctioning, thickening agents, Frazier Free Water Protocol, and oral motor interventions
- Collaborate closely with nursing, PT, respiratory therapy, social services and pharmacy to coordinate patient-centered care
- Provide patient and family education to ensure safe transitions and improve outcomes
- Document timely, accurate billing and clinical notes in the facility charting system
- Participate in discharge planning and reassessments to support continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active California state license (pending license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical SLP experience — acute care experience preferred
- Travel assignment experience required
- Familiarity with any electronic charting system (required)
- BLS preferred
- Experience with trach/vent care and Passy Muir valve a plus
- Ability to float to other acute floors as needed and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong documentation and billing skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Bedside Swallow Evaluation and dysphagia management
- Conducting and interpreting Modified Barium Swallow Studies
- Frazier Free Water Protocol and International Dysphagia Diet knowledge
- Oral motor techniques, thickening agents, suctioning, and compensatory strategies
- Trach/vent management and ventilator-assisted patient care
- Use of WAB and BIMS assessment tools (knowledge/training)
- Developing evaluations, plans of care, reassessments, and discharge plans
- Concurrent therapy documentation and coordination
- Strong patient/family education and interdisciplinary communication skills
- Accurate billing/documentation practices for clinical care
