Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing assessments
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that make a measurable difference
- Deliver skilled therapy sessions and adapt strategies to each patient’s needs
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Educate patients, families and caregivers to support progress outside sessions
- Document evaluations, plans and progress clearly and on time in the medical record
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive clinical culture
- Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with policies
Qualifications
- Valid or eligible for California Speech-Language Pathology licensure
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred but new grads from accredited programs are welcome to apply
- Clinical experience with assessment and treatment of speech, language and swallowing disorders (experience level negotiable)
- Comfortable with electronic documentation and interdisciplinary teamwork
- Ability to pass background checks and meet client credentialing requirements
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA-accredited program preferred)
- Clinical Fellow requirements or CCC-SLP credential helpful
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment and treatment planning skills across the lifespan
- Experience with dysphagia evaluation and intervention techniques
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) approaches
- Skilled in clinical documentation, outcome measurement and progress tracking
- Excellent communication, time management and patient-family education abilities
