Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the unit team to deliver compassionate, high-quality care every day
- Coordinate patient care and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff to foster a strong, skilled team
- Oversee clinical operations including staffing, workflow, and resource allocation
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, facility policies, and quality improvement initiatives
- Communicate clearly with patients and families to support care plans and expectations
- Manage documentation and reporting to maintain accurate, timely patient records
Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be eligible to practice in Maine; Compact license accepted if applicable)
- Proven experience as a Unit Manager, Nurse Manager, or charge RN leading clinical teams
- Current BLS required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred where applicable
- Strong leadership skills with experience in staff development, scheduling, and performance management
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- BSN preferred for leadership roles; equivalent experience considered
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical expertise in nursing assessment, care planning, and patient safety
- Ability to lead unit-level quality improvement and performance initiatives
- Skilled in staff supervision, delegation, and fostering a collaborative environment
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and documentation systems
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities calmly
