Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform emergency room x-ray imaging with attention to speed and accuracy in high-acuity situations
- Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images
- Collaborate closely with trauma and ER teams to prioritize imaging for critically ill or injured patients
- Assess patients and prepare them safely and compassionately for imaging procedures
- Maintain imaging equipment, perform quality checks, and report any issues promptly
- Document procedures and imaging findings accurately in the patient record
- Follow infection control and radiation safety protocols at all times
- Assist with patient lifting and positioning as needed to ensure safe, high-quality imaging
Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 months of imaging experience (CT or X-ray) — you’ve got hands-on experience and confidence
- Active AART CT certification (required)
- Active Ohio Department of Health (ODH) license (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a Level I trauma center (nice-to-have)
- Comfortable working in a high-paced trauma environment and handling physically demanding tasks (may lift/push over 50 lbs)
- Willingness to work rotating day shifts, weekends, and holidays
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in CT imaging techniques and CT scanner operation
- Skilled in plain radiography (X-ray) and emergency room imaging workflows
- Experience with trauma imaging protocols and rapid triage imaging
- Strong patient positioning and safety practices
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritize urgent studies
- Teamwork and clear communication with ER and trauma staff
- Basic equipment troubleshooting and quality assurance awareness
