Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (team schedule): Days 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and Nights 7:00 PM - 6:30 AM. Weekend rotation: Days every 3rd weekend, Nights every other weekend. Holidays rotate with permanent staff. 12-hour orientation: three 12-hour shifts required up front.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert respiratory care across the patient lifespan, from neonates to geriatrics
- Manage mechanical ventilation and adjust settings per protocols and patient needs
- Perform bedside spirometry and assist with bedside bronchoscopy procedures
- Deliver non-invasive ventilation therapies including BiPAP and CPAP and manage high-flow oxygen therapy
- Monitor cardiac and respiratory status using EKG and other monitoring equipment
- Collaborate with providers, nursing, and respiratory leads to develop and implement care plans
- Float to different areas of the hospital as needed and maintain competency across inpatient units
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in EPIC
Qualifications
- Recent Level 1 or Level 2 ICU experience required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required
- BLS and ACLS (AHA) required; NRP and PALS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of clinical respiratory therapy experience
- Driver's license required at submittal
- Ability to work as part of a team, adapt to different care areas, and float when needed
- Compliance with facility policies including fingernail/artificial nail policy
Education
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- BLS and ACLS required; NRP and PALS preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills with mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
- Experience with non-invasive ventilation modalities such as BiPAP and CPAP
- Competence in bedside bronchoscopy assistance and bedside spirometry
- Familiarity with high-flow systems such as Airvo2 and ventilator brands Drager, Servo I, Carefusion
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP devices including Vision, V60, V30, Respironics S/T
- Charting experience with EPIC
- Excellent time management, communication, teamwork, and adaptability
- Comfort working in acute inpatient settings and across multiple patient populations
