Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, precise radiation treatments using IMRT, SRS and SBRT techniques
- Perform simulations and advanced imaging (CBCT/kV/mV) for accurate treatment setup
- Execute treatment planning and pretreatment checks to ensure quality care
- Operate and maintain treatment units (Elekta Infinity/Synergy) and imaging equipment
- Chart treatments clearly and promptly in Epic and participate in chart checks
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists and the multidisciplinary team
- Provide compassionate patient/family teaching, including safety and aftercare
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and contribute to QA procedures
Qualifications
- ARRT (T) certification required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of radiation therapy experience; first-time travelers considered
- Active state radiation therapist license (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Comfort with floating between like units and flexible scheduling
- Elekta experience preferred — training to Elekta available if needed
Knowledge & Skills
- IMRT, SRS and SBRT treatment modalities
- CBCT/kV/mV imaging and respiratory gating techniques
- Treatment planning and pretreatment verification
- Simulation, beam modifying/positioning and portal imaging
- Mosaiq and C-RAD familiarity; Epic charting proficiency
- Radiation safety, isolation precautions and PPE
- Patient/family education, lift/transfer devices and emergency procedures
- Ability to supervise implementation and perform chart checks
