Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-focused direct care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding and mobility
- Perform safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Take and record vital signs, monitor resident condition, and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and timely in the resident charting system
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support individualized care plans
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to maintain a safe environment
- Support resident quality of life through meaningful interactions and emotional support
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (T-CNA accepted)
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
- State authorization or ability to obtain necessary WV credentials for the assignment
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but enthusiastic new CNAs welcome
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work 12-hour night shifts
Education
- High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and resident mobility
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
- Accurate documentation and charting habits
- Infection prevention and safety best practices
- Strong communication and teamwork with nursing staff and families
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident care tasks
