Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents at Casa De Oro Center
- Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
- Perform thorough patient assessments and report changes promptly
- Document care accurately in the patient record and communicate with the care team
- Assist with activities of daily living while promoting resident dignity and independence
- Support care planning and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- Active LPN license (Licensed Practical Nurse) — ability to practice in New Mexico preferred
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working in long-term care/skilled nursing environments (per diem experience a plus)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a collaborative team
- Reliable, professional, and patient-centered approach to care
Education
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN/LVN certificate or diploma)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Basic wound care and dressing changes
- Vital signs, patient assessment and reporting
- Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical charting
- Infection control, safety protocols, and resident rights
