Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing and feeding
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics
- Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition accurately
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Document care clearly and communicate observations to the care team
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent required
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Compassionate attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and reliability
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and elder dignity
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Accurate documentation and observational skills
- Basic patient mobility and transfer techniques
- Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
