Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (night shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and safety
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and record vital signs and behavioral observations accurately and timely
- Support safe transfers and mobility while following proper body mechanics and lift protocols
- Communicate clearly with nurses, interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families
- Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection control policies
- Document care and observations in the resident chart per facility policy
Qualifications
- Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent credential
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Prior experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred
- Valid Maryland GNA certification or eligibility to obtain state certification
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to meet facility health requirements
- Reliable, compassionate demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved GNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and geriatric care principles
- Skill with basic clinical tasks: vital signs, feeding assistance, toileting, mobility support
- Familiarity with safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Strong verbal communication and documentation skills
- Ability to respond calmly in emergencies and follow clinical direction
- Teamwork mindset and respect for resident dignity and privacy
