Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for women in labor, through delivery and postpartum
• Perform thorough maternal and newborn assessments and monitor fetal status using fetal monitoring
• Prepare and maintain delivery rooms, assist with C-section preparation, and support induction management
• Administer IV medications and manage IV therapy safely and accurately
• Deliver immediate neonatal care and neonatal resuscitation when needed
• Document nursing care clearly and timely to ensure continuity and safety
• Provide patient and family education and emotional support throughout labor and postpartum
• Coordinate patient transfers and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
• Current CPR certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• ACLS certification required within one year of employment
• Preferred: 4 years of experience in obstetrics or labor and delivery care
• Ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations and provide excellent communication
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and occasional shift rotations

Education

• Graduate of an accredited RN program with active Colorado RN licensure
• CPR required; NRP and ACLS required (ACLS within one year of hire)

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor and delivery procedures and intrapartum/postpartum care
• Fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and newborn care best practices
• IV medication administration and sterile technique
• Infection control principles and safe patient handling
• Skilled assessment, documentation, and patient education
• Familiarity or interest in obstetrics equipment and C-section preparation
