Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Day (5x8); may include 1 weekend day per month (as needed); float to other UCSF facilities required
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and IV therapies safely and accurately for outpatient oncology patients
- Assess and monitor patients during infusion, recognizing and responding to changes in condition
- Access, manage, and maintain central ports and IV access for treatment delivery
- Safely handle cytotoxic materials and follow protocols for disposal and spill management
- Document care thoroughly and efficiently in Epic to ensure continuity and quality
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, IV teams, and rapid response
- Provide patient and family education about treatment, side-effect management, and follow-up
- Support clinic operations, including triage, patient flow, and maintaining a calm infusion environment
Qualifications
- Active California RN license required
- Minimum 2 years outpatient infusion experience (outpatient oncology experience required)
- AHA BLS certification required
- Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) required or highly preferred
- OCN preferred
- Ability and willingness to float to other UCSF facilities
- Experience with Epic or similar electronic health record preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster required per facility guidelines (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Education
- Active California Registered Nurse license (RN)
- Nursing education (ADN/ASN or BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
- IV therapy and infusion center operations
- Accessing and managing ports, including troubleshooting
- Administration of blood and blood products
- Recognition and communication of abnormal lab values
- Safe handling and disposal of cytotoxic materials
- Proficient charting in Epic and strong documentation habits
- Excellent patient education, communication, and teamwork skills
