Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 3x12-hour night shifts per week (Night) — strictly nights, non-negotiable; 13-week assignment with high chance of extension. Exact unit start/end times vary by facility.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition and needs using evidence-based nursing practice in the emergency department
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients and families
- Perform clinical interventions, administer medications, and monitor patient responses with pharmacology competency
- Interpret EKGs and respond to cardiac and other acute emergencies using ACLS/PALS protocols
- Evaluate patient progress and document nursing assessments and outcomes accurately
- Maintain required competencies and complete CNE specialty competency exams and checklists
- Communicate clearly with interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, coordinated care
Qualifications
- Current and active Rhode Island RN license (Nursys verification required)
- BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
- CPR certification and proof of other required credentials
- COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations required (exemptions considered but may delay or shorten assignment)
- Completion of employer-required skills checklist, EKG, pharmacology and specialty competency exams
- Proficiency in English and ability to meet facility credentialing requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and triage in a fast-paced ED environment
- Care planning and evaluation of nursing interventions
- Emergency nursing skills including stabilization and trauma response
- Medication administration and pharmacology competency
- Basic EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring
- Strong clinical judgment, documentation, and communication skills
