Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Provide respectful, person-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
- Monitor and record vital signs and changes in resident condition accurately
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure hydration needs are met
- Communicate observations and concerns clearly to the nursing team and care plan
- Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for residents
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (or state equivalent) required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfort working with older adults and a patient, compassionate attitude
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Skillful assistance with ADLs (bathing, toileting, grooming, feeding)
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Good observational skills and accurate record-keeping
- Friendly bedside manner and the ability to build trusting relationships
- Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced care setting
