Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to geriatric patients
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Support safe mobility and transfers following facility protocols
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and assistance provided
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect residents and staff
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver consistent care

Qualifications

• GNA classification / Geriatric Nursing Assistant experience (as indicated by the job class)
• Current certification/licensure if required by the facility or state (check facility requirements)
• Comfort working evenings and a flexible per diem schedule
• Demonstrated compassion, patience, and strong communication with residents and families
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with resident care and safe transfers

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification or equivalent training (facility/state requirements apply)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused support
• Skill assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Basic observation and reporting of resident condition changes
• Familiarity with safe handling and infection control practices
• Clear verbal and written communication for teamwork and documentation
