Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; schedule set in 6-week blocks (leadership-created schedule); includes 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule and possible holiday rotation; day (rotating)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess critically ill patients and deliver high-acuity nursing care in a combination ICU float environment
- Manage mechanical ventilation and collaborate with Respiratory Therapy on respiratory interventions
- Titrate critical drips safely (pressors, sedatives, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, insulin, heparin, etc.) according to protocols
- Interpret telemetry strips and monitor trends to guide timely interventions
- Provide bedside support for advanced therapies (CRRT, IABP, Impella) and escalate appropriately
- Document care accurately in EPIC and communicate clear handoffs to the interdisciplinary team
- Float between units within the assigned zone and adapt quickly to varying unit workflows and acuity
- Mentor and support colleagues when acting as a resource on complex patients
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license (able to submit Colorado license or compact where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (required); if you're a first-time travel nurse, 3+ years ICU experience plus Epic experience is preferred
- BLS and ACLS (AHA) required; NIHSS required; TNCC preferred
- Comfortable titrating critical drips and managing high-acuity interventions
- Experience with mechanical ventilation and advanced ICU monitoring/therapies
- Proven ability to read and interpret telemetry independently
- Willingness and ability to float across multiple ICU subspecialties within the zone
- Reliable transportation and ability to obtain housing that allows floating across a 60-mile radius
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred but not required
- Active RN license in home state and ability to obtain/submit Colorado licensure as requested
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care fundamentals: hemodynamics, ventilator management, and titratable medications
- Proficiency with EPIC charting and documentation workflows
- Telemetry interpretation and rhythm recognition skills
- Experience across ICU subspecialties (MICU, SICU, CVICU, TICU) is a big plus
- Comfort with high-acuity equipment (CRRT, IABP, Impella, vents, high-flow, CPAP/BiPAP)
- Excellent communication, prioritization, and teamwork in fast-paced acute settings
- Flexibility and adaptability to float between units and changing assignments
