Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6 × 12-hour shifts — 72 hours per two-week period). Schedule includes every 3rd weekend off; shifts may be day or night and specific start/end times vary by assignment. Expect to float between ER, acute care and long-term care as needed.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a critical access hospital
- Triage and stabilize emergency patients, initiating appropriate interventions and escalations
- Administer medications and perform patient procedures for ER, acute and LTC patients as assigned
- Float to acute care and long-term care areas to provide backup when ER census is low
- Document patient assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly and promptly
- Collaborate with physicians, RPNs and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care and flow
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to facility policies and infection control practices
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) — active State of Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment (travelers must apply immediately upon acceptance)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience
- Experience with 12-hour shifts and the stamina for a 6×12 schedule
- Comfort working in a small critical access hospital and floating across ER, acute and LTC areas
- Demonstrated skills in medication administration and basic patient procedures
- RPN experience noted in facility context — familiarity with RPN roles/skills is helpful
