Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Brooklyn Park, MD
Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, days to be confirmed, day shift
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents and support their daily wellbeing
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly communicate observations to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and maintain clear, timely records
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comfortable working with older adults and experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus
- Ability to pass background and health screenings as required by the facility
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused assistance
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, feeding assistance, and mobility support
- Accurate charting and attention to detail
- Infection control practices and safe handling procedures
- Compassionate communication and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
