Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and report changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff promptly
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident interactions
- Support mealtime assistance and dietary needs, honoring resident preferences
- Promote a clean, safe, and dignified environment for all residents
- Participate in team huddles and collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary staff
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfort working with older adults and assisting with mobility and personal care
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a care team
- Proof of required state health screenings and TB test as required by facility
Education
- High school diploma or GED; completion of an approved GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
- Ability to perform personal care tasks and safe resident handling techniques
- Familiarity with basic documentation practices and care reporting
- Infection control practices and proper use of PPE
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills with residents and families
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
