Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients using evidence-based assessment techniques to create individualized plans of care
• Develop and implement therapeutic interventions that restore mobility, reduce pain and promote independence
• Document progress and outcomes clearly and timely to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and therapy team members to coordinate patient-centered treatment
• Educate patients and families on home programs and safe mobility strategies to support long-term recovery
• Participate in goal-setting meetings and discharge planning to optimize patient transitions

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist license in New Jersey or ability to obtain one prior to start
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification
• Previous clinical experience in rehabilitation settings preferred
• Comfortable working part-time schedules in an inpatient rehab environment
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with common rehab outcome measures

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred, or Bachelor/Master in Physical Therapy acceptable

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in musculoskeletal and neurological assessment
• Proficient with therapeutic exercise, gait training and functional mobility training
• Excellent patient communication and education skills
• Solid clinical reasoning and goal-oriented treatment planning
• Teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Competence with electronic medical record documentation
