Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents at Hammonds Lane Ctr
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Support mobility and transfers safely, using proper body mechanics
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
- Document care and resident interactions accurately and respectfully
- Collaborate with the Genesis - Mid-America & SE Region care team to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required) — you know your stuff!
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Comfortable working with geriatric populations and long-term care residents
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow care plans
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and elder assistance
- Basic clinical observation skills and ability to report changes
- Safe patient handling and mobility support
- Infection control fundamentals and safe hygiene practices
- Team collaboration and resident-centered communication
