Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and promote dignity and independence
• Observe, record and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe mobility by assisting with transfers and ambulation according to care plans
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment for residents
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to person-centered care planning

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (or equivalent state-recognized certification)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Prior experience with geriatric or long-term care residents is a plus
• Proof of required immunizations and background checks per facility policy
• Reliable, compassionate, and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of basic resident care and activities of daily living
• Ability to take and record vital signs and observe clinical changes
• Good communication skills with residents, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Basic infection control practices and safe patient handling techniques
• Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
• Empathy, patience and a calm approach to challenging situations
