Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care and support to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
- Follow individualized care plans and participate in care-team communication
- Help create a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
- Engage residents in meaningful conversation and social activities to enhance wellbeing
Qualifications
- GNA certification or equivalent credential required
- Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
- Experience working with older adults or in long-term care is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with a team
- Comfortable with physical tasks associated with resident care and mobility assistance
- Clear background check and required health screenings as per facility policy
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with residents and families
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling practices
- Ability to document care clearly and accurately
- Compassionate approach to dementia care and geriatric needs
- Time management skills to support multiple residents effectively
