Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe transfers and proper body mechanics to reduce risk of injury
- Help create a comforting environment through meaningful interactions and emotional support
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members
Qualifications
- Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) — required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and supporting activities of daily living
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a care team
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and aging-related needs
- Skill in taking and recording vital signs and observing clinical changes
- Infection control practices and safe handling of personal protective equipment
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
- Time management and reliable documentation habits
