Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to residents to preserve dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
- Record accurate documentation of care, behaviors, and vital signs as directed
- Support resident social engagement and encourage participation in daily activities
- Follow infection control standards and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver individualized, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings (TB, immunizations)
- Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with strong communication skills
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered care
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic resident mobility
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
- Basic observational skills for reporting changes in condition
- Good interpersonal skills and teamwork with nursing staff and families
- Reliable documentation and time-management abilities
