Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to residents to preserve dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
• Record accurate documentation of care, behaviors, and vital signs as directed
• Support resident social engagement and encourage participation in daily activities
• Follow infection control standards and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver individualized, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with strong communication skills
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered care
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic resident mobility
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
• Basic observational skills for reporting changes in condition
• Good interpersonal skills and teamwork with nursing staff and families
• Reliable documentation and time-management abilities
