Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care and assistance with activities of daily living for geriatric residents
• Help residents with mobility, bathing, dressing and feeding while preserving dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers and use of mobility aids to prevent falls
• Support social and emotional needs through friendly conversation and engagement
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility protocols for care
• Adhere to infection control, safety procedures and resident rights at all times

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Valid work authorization for the United States
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening and required health screenings
• Compassionate attitude, patience, and strong communication skills
• Previous experience in long-term care or with geriatric populations is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
• Able to take and accurately record vital signs
• Knowledge of basic infection control practices
• Comfortable with safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Strong interpersonal skills and a resident-centered approach
• Basic charting and documentation skills
