Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention strategies
- Monitor residents' condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Document care, observations, and resident interactions accurately and professionally
- Support residents' social and emotional needs by engaging in respectful, person-centered interactions
- Collaborate with the care team to help deliver individualized care plans
Qualifications
- GNA certification (state-required) — current and in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfort working with geriatric residents and assisting with ADLs
- Background check and any facility-required screenings/clearances
- Reliable, compassionate, and a team player who communicates well
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- State GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in resident hygiene, feeding assistance, and mobility support
- Knowledge of infection control and safe handling procedures
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Good observational skills and ability to report changes accurately
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
