Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to elderly residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff to ensure timely care
- Support a safe, clean, and respectful living environment for all residents
- Document care provided accurately and promptly in resident records
- Collaborate with the care team to create positive resident experiences and promote independence
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and assisting with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Previous long-term care or assisted living experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved GNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care techniques and safe transfer/lift procedures
- Observational skills to notice and report changes in resident condition
- Familiarity with infection control and patient hygiene standards
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Compassionate bedside manner and respect for resident dignity
- Clear documentation and basic electronic charting comfort
