Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents — help them feel seen and safe
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) with dignity
• Support mobility and transfers, using safe body mechanics and equipment
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Engage residents socially to promote emotional well-being and meaningful interactions

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• High school diploma or equivalent (see Education section)
• Previous experience caring for older adults is preferred but new grads with strong compassion are welcome
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health/immunization requirements
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work the assigned evening shift
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and respect for resident dignity
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, assisting with ADLs, safe transfers
• Infection prevention and proper PPE use
• Accurate and timely documentation skills
• Strong interpersonal and observational skills
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
• Familiarity with electronic charting systems is a plus
