Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults and support their dignity
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Monitor residents and promptly report changes in condition to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and safety
- Support safe mobility and fall prevention through careful assistance
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to protect residents and staff
- Collaborate with nurses and other team members to deliver coordinated care
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working with the geriatric population and assisting with ADLs
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen as required by the facility
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Resident-focused care and empathy for older adults
- Assistance with ADLs and basic nursing support
- Basic vital signs and observation skills
- Accurate documentation and basic EHR/charting familiarity
- Infection control and safe body mechanics
- Clear communication and teamwork
