Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) for geriatric residents
- Assist residents with hygiene, dressing, mobility and feeding while preserving dignity
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and keep thorough, timely records
- Help maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
- Collaborate with the care team to support individualized care plans
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Class: GNA) — current and in good standing
- Experience working with older adults or in long-term care preferred
- Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and document accurately
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding requirements (e.g., screenings and background checks)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and respectful elder care
- Comfort assisting with ADLs and basic resident mobility
- Basic observation skills for recognizing changes in resident status
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
- Reliable documentation and time-management skills
