Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to residents and their families
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
- Document care delivered accurately and timely in resident records
- Support safe transfers and mobility using proper techniques to reduce risk
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure each resident receives personalized care
Qualifications
- Valid Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
Education
- GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of elder care needs and best practices
- Ability to assist with ADLs and mobility safely
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Infection control and safe handling of equipment
- Teamwork and clear communication with residents and staff
- Observation skills to recognize changes in resident condition
