Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Monitor and report changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Follow care plans and document resident care accurately and timely
- Support social engagement and meaningful activities to enhance quality of life
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification or equivalent required
- Prior experience working with older adults or in long term care is a strong plus
- Current CPR or BLS certification preferred
- Ability to pass facility-required background check and health screenings
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of resident-centered care and dignity-focused practices
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and mobility support
- Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
- Accurate charting and documentation
- Infection control and safe lifting/body mechanics
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
