Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults, treating each person with dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding)
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident condition, reporting changes to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention efforts, using proper body mechanics
• Document care activities accurately and timely in resident records
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans
• Create a warm environment by engaging residents in friendly conversation and meaningful activities

Qualifications

• Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings (TB test, etc.)
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident dignity
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility
• Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Good documentation and time-management skills
• Comfortable working as part of a care team and following care plans
• Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills with residents and families
