Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents
- Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility and meal assistance while preserving dignity
- Monitor resident conditions and promptly report any changes to the nursing team
- Accurately document care, observations, and care plan updates in the charting system
- Support resident engagement through meaningful conversation and recreational activities
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
- Adhere to infection control practices and facility policies to maintain a safe environment
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing; Maine certification preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program
- Comfortable working the assigned 1:45 PM to 10:15 PM shift and adaptable to facility scheduling
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited nurse aide / CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
- Infection prevention and safe patient handling techniques
- Basic charting and documentation skills; familiarity with electronic health records a plus
- Ability to observe, report, and escalate clinical changes accurately
- Compassionate interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents
