Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents
• Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility and meal assistance while preserving dignity
• Monitor resident conditions and promptly report any changes to the nursing team
• Accurately document care, observations, and care plan updates in the charting system
• Support resident engagement through meaningful conversation and recreational activities
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Adhere to infection control practices and facility policies to maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing; Maine certification preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program
• Comfortable working the assigned 1:45 PM to 10:15 PM shift and adaptable to facility scheduling
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited nurse aide / CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
• Infection prevention and safe patient handling techniques
• Basic charting and documentation skills; familiarity with electronic health records a plus
• Ability to observe, report, and escalate clinical changes accurately
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents
