Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the nursing team
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to keep residents comfortable and secure
- Document care and observations thoroughly to support continuity and quality of care
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to implement individualized care plans
- Promote dignity and independence by encouraging resident participation in daily routines
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
- Active or eligible for state CNA registry in Maine
- Comfortable with hands-on resident care and basic clinical tasks
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and ready to step in with a positive approach
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care best practices
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
- Ability to follow care plans and report changes in resident condition
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
- Understanding of infection control, safety, and patient privacy practices
