Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to keep residents comfortable and secure
• Document care and observations thoroughly to support continuity and quality of care
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to implement individualized care plans
• Promote dignity and independence by encouraging resident participation in daily routines
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Active or eligible for state CNA registry in Maine
• Comfortable with hands-on resident care and basic clinical tasks
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and ready to step in with a positive approach

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care best practices
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes in resident condition
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
• Understanding of infection control, safety, and patient privacy practices
