Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility to promote comfort and dignity
• Provide compassionate bedside care and support to residents, ensuring their safety and well-being
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition, including vital signs and behavior, to the nursing team
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record to maintain continuity and compliance
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
• Support infection prevention practices and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents
• Engage with residents and families with empathy and clear communication to foster trust and rapport

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (current and in good standing; able to work in Maine)
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and current competency verification
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements (immunizations, TB screening, etc.)
• Comfort working in long-term care or similar settings; strong teamwork and communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on knowledge of resident care, ADLs, transfers, and safe patient handling
• Basic vital sign assessment and recognition of common clinical changes
• Familiarity with infection control standards and proper PPE use
• Experience with charting and basic electronic health record entries
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with residents and families
