Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper techniques to protect residents and yourself
• Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff to ensure timely care
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to enhance quality of life
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean, secure environment
• Document care accurately and clearly so the care team stays informed and coordinated
• Collaborate with nurses and therapy staff to support individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification in good standing (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained promptly upon hire
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations, including dementia and mobility limitations
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Reliable attendance and the physical ability to assist residents safely

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certificate or completion of an approved nursing assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident-centered care
• Basic infection control and safety practices
• Safe transfer and lifting techniques
• Ability to observe, record, and report resident behaviors and changes
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with residents
• Familiarity with electronic or paper documentation systems (comfortable learning EHRs)
