Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
• Maintain infection control standards to protect residents and coworkers

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in Rhode Island
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or required by facility
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs: bathing, dressing, toileting and feeding
• Familiarity with safe transfer and positioning techniques
• Accurate documentation and basic charting skills
• Awareness of infection prevention and resident safety principles
• Compassionate patient interaction and effective teamwork
