Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care during night shifts, keeping safety and dignity front and center
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and timely according to scope of practice
• Assess and monitor patients, recognizing changes in condition and escalating when needed
• Document patient care and maintain clear, professional communication with the healthcare team
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate patient plans and transitions of care
• Support infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to protect patients and staff
• Educate patients and families with clear, respectful explanations tailored to their needs
• Help maintain a positive unit culture—mentoring less experienced staff and contributing to process improvements

Qualifications

• Current, active LPN or RN license (as applicable) — ability to practice per state requirements
• Minimum clinical experience in a relevant care setting (long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar) preferred
• BLS certification required; ACLS or other specialty certifications a plus depending on unit needs
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility health requirements
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a team-first attitude
• Willingness to work night shifts and adapt to assignment-specific protocols

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN nursing program (diploma, ADN, or BSN as appropriate for role)

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of basic nursing assessments and medication administration
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to manage multiple patients safely during busy night shifts
• Skilled in patient/family education and clear interdisciplinary communication
• Familiarity with infection control standards and safety procedures
• Adaptability to new facilities and workflows typical of travel assignments
