Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents, prioritizing safety and dignity
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans with clarity and clinical confidence
- Administer medications and treatments accurately while following facility protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate seamless patient care transitions
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly and professionally
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and follow-up to promote positive outcomes
- Actively participate in unit meetings and quality improvement initiatives to elevate care standards
Qualifications
- Current, active LPN or RN license (eligible to practice in Maine or able to obtain state licensure promptly)
- Minimum clinical experience preferred in long-term care or similar settings
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications encouraged
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization and onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN diploma/certificate or RN ADN/BSN as applicable)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of nursing fundamentals, medication administration, and infection control
- Proficient in patient assessment, wound care, and documentation systems
- Skilled at prioritizing tasks in busy clinical environments
- Comfortable collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and advocating for patients
- Attention to detail, sound clinical judgment, and adaptability on the fly
