Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document them in the medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update individualized care plans
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly to the care team
- Provide patient and family education with patience and clarity to support positive outcomes
- Support facility initiatives for safety, infection control, and excellent resident experience
Qualifications
- Active LPN or RN license appropriate for practice in Maine (travel licensure assistance available)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications encouraged
- Comfortable working extended day shifts (12+ hours) in a fast-paced long-term care environment
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to adapt quickly to new settings
- Previous long-term care or travel nursing experience preferred
Education
- LPN: Nursing diploma or equivalent and state LPN licensure
- RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and state RN licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in resident-centered care, ADL support, and wound care basics
- Proficient with medication administration and charting best practices
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and standard nursing documentation
- Able to maintain professional relationships with residents, families, and staff
