Shift Type: Day shift, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 12-hour day shifts (36-hour guarantee), every other weekend, no call

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess individualized patient needs and develop clear, evidence-based care plans
- Implement and coordinate patient care, ensuring safe, timely interventions
- Evaluate patient responses and adjust care plans to achieve the best outcomes
- Provide clinical leadership and guide the patient care team during your shift
- Document patient status and interventions accurately in the Cerner EMR
- Mentor and support junior staff and contribute to a culture of learning
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote patient safety
- Educate patients and families to support recovery and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license required (Nursys must show Active Illinois/IL License)
- Minimum 3+ years of Med Surg nursing experience required
- Current American Heart Association BLS (required)
- ACLS (AHA) required within 30 days of start
- Two supervisory reference forms with dates employed (required)
- Candidates must be outside a 50-mile radius of facility (applicants within 50 miles are not eligible)
- Applicants who were direct employees of the facility within the last 2 years are not eligible
Education
- Active RN license (Illinois) — implies completion of accredited nursing education (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong Med Surg clinical skills: patient assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation
- Clinical leadership and team coordination on shift
- Experience with Cerner EMR for accurate charting and handoffs
- Ability to manage multiple patients safely in a busy acute-care environment
- Solid critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills
- Supervisory experience and comfort providing mentorship and clinical direction
