Roles & Responsibilities
- Support primary care providers by preparing patients for telemedicine visits and ensuring smooth virtual workflows
- Perform clinical tasks like taking vitals, collecting histories, and documenting in the EMR
- Set up and troubleshoot telemedicine equipment so providers and patients connect without delay
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate clearly with clinical teams to keep the day on track
- Assist with specimen collection and basic procedures following established protocols
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control and HIPAA standards
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification or equivalent clinical training preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Comfortable supporting telemedicine visits and assisting PCPs with virtual care
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
- Ability to complete a 2-week training program and commit to the full assignment
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with telemedicine platforms and basic troubleshooting
- Proficient in taking vital signs and performing routine clinical tasks
- Experience or comfort using electronic medical records (EMR) for documentation
- Understanding of infection control, patient privacy (HIPAA), and clinical safety
- Organizational skills to manage patient flow and multi-task in a busy clinic
