Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a med-surg unit, making each patient’s comfort and safety a priority
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor changes in condition, escalating concerns promptly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following physician orders and safety protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to create and execute individualized care plans
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record to ensure continuity and quality
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans in a clear, supportive way
• Champion infection control, safety initiatives, and best practices to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required for practice)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg clinical experience as stated in the job posting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or obtainable prior to start
• Comfortable working 12-hour overnight shifts in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid med-surg clinical assessment and prioritization
• Medication administration and IV therapy familiarity
• Post-op care, wound care, and basic telemetry awareness when applicable
• Clear, timely EHR documentation and care coordination
• Patient and family education with a compassionate communication style
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs and unit flow
