Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in the operating room for orthopedic, spine, neurosurgical, robotic and general surgical procedures
• Prepare the OR and surgical instruments, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety
• Operate and monitor electrosurgical equipment and Neptune suction during cases
• Position patients using a variety of patient positioning devices with care and precision
• Document perioperative care accurately in Meditech to support continuity and compliance
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the perioperative team to deliver outstanding patient experience
• Apply critical thinking to anticipate needs, troubleshoot issues and maintain workflow efficiency

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee required
• BLS certification required
• CST (National) certificate required
• Minimum 2 years of circulating experience in the OR
• Orthopedic and spine circulating experience strongly preferred
• Neurosurgical, robotic surgery and general surgery experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and customer service skills

Education

• Active RN licensure required (specific degree not specified in job posting)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Meditech documentation
• Familiarity with electrosurgical equipment and Neptune suction systems
• Experience with patient positioning devices and safe handling techniques
• Comfort working around surgical robotics and advanced imaging systems
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced OR environments
• Solid sterile technique and infection prevention practices
