Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and stabilize emergency patients quickly and confidently using best-practice protocols
• Administer medications, IV therapies and breathing treatments with accuracy and attention to safety
• Perform emergency procedures such as splinting and assist with trauma and STEMI activations
• Use EPIC for charting and care coordination to keep patient information accurate and accessible
• Operate and monitor emergency equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Lucas devices, I-STAT and GE monitors
• Collaborate with physicians, charge RN, flow coordinators and ED techs to maintain efficient patient flow
• Provide compassionate pediatric and adult emergency care while educating patients and families
• Participate in quality improvement and unit-based initiatives to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state licensure required)
• Minimum 2 years of prior Emergency Department (ED) RN experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, and ENPC certifications required or strongly preferred
• Comfortable working with trauma, stroke/STEMI, and pediatric emergencies
• Experience with EPIC EMR and common ED devices (Alaris, Lucas, I-STAT) preferred
• Flexible, team-oriented attitude and ability to work rotating weekends

Education

• Active RN license required; BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing fundamentals and triage assessment skills
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record
• Experience with Alaris IV pumps, Lucas, I-STAT, EPOC and GE monitors
• Skills in splinting, administering breathing treatments, and basic ED procedures
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients and activate stroke/STEMI/trauma pathways
• Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills under pressure
• Adaptability to varying shift patterns and patient ratios (typically 4:1)
